The Word 'of' means to multiply e.g. 23% of 80 means 23% x 80 We can do 23% x 80, as we can re-write 23% as a decimal. Remember, to turn a percentage into a decimal you divide by 100. so 23% = 0.23 23% of 80 = 0.23 x 80
