Ghanzi Game Farm

Ghanzi Game Farm The total land size is just over 27,000 hectares, 18,000 hectares is held on freehold title. This portion is operated as a game farm of 9,000 hectares and is on leasehold with just under 40 years remaining. This section was previously operated as a cattle farm, however the cattle have been removed. The land is typical Kalahari sand veld and due to the history of bush encroachment in the Ganzi area, around 15,000 hectares has been de-bushed by the present owner to improve grazing conditions for the animals.

The Lodge The lodge has accommodation for 14 people in 7 en-suite units. Construction is from traditional safari materials of canvas and thatch. A large thatched dining room/lounge overlooks a pan Boma for alfresco evening meals. Service rooms such as kitchen, pantry and stores and staff accommodation. Solar powered borehole and is backed up by a powered borehole

Residences There are six separate residences on the property used as management houses. The main management hub is well developed consisting of; large managers house with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounges, kitchen, scullery & pantry. Large covered stoop swimming pool. A private guest cottage attached to the main house. Another managers house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Residence

Buildings Stables for 10 horses, large workshop, large storage warehouse, cold room, meat processing rooms and developed vegetable gardens. This complex is solar powered with a large backup generator. The property has an extensive list of move-able assets, including tractors graders and numerous Toyota Land cruisers.

Machinery Shed

The game species include, giraffe, water buck, eland, hartebeest, gemsbok, kudu, ostrich, springbok, blue wildebeest & zebra. There are healthy populations of warthog, duiker, steenbok, jackal cheetah and leopard. The entire property is externally fenced with a 17-strand 2.4 metre game fence in accordance with Botswana Government legislation, it is approximately 110 kms in extent. Road and firebreak networks are extensive and well maintained.

Water is is plentiful throughout, sweet and drinkable Water is is plentiful throughout, sweet and drinkable. There are 19 boreholes currently in use, operated by solar, wind, or Lister engines. There are a further 13 proven boreholes drilled and capped. There is a comprehensive series of waterholes with hides throughout the property.
