How to Search the Library Catalogue To search the library catalogue, go to http://weblib.cpce-polyu.edu.hk Click Catalogue from the menu bar

How to Search the Library Catalogue You can search by Author, Title, Author/Title, Keywords, Subject, Call number, or ISBN/ISSN.

How to Search the Library Catalogue If you do a search author, click the Author link and type the LAST NAME first e.g. Gates Roger

How to Search the Library Catalogue To search by title, click the Title link and type the first few words of the TITLE, e.g. voyages of discovery. No need to key in any initial articles, “A”, “An”, “The” for the search.

How to Search the Library Catalogue You can search by any keyword or phrase from the fields of author, title, subject or note by using the keywords search. Click on the Keywords link to perform an Advanced Keyword Search.

How to Search the Library Catalogue To search for a topic that has two or more concepts, you can select AND from the drop down list, or type AND between them. e.g. (computer aided design) and arts

How to Search the Library Catalogue Select NEAR from the drop down list to specify words close to each other in any order. e.g. nursing near community

How to Search the Library Catalogue To retrieve records that contain specified words in the relative order specified with the before expression, you can use BEFORE from the drop down list. e.g. security before science Note: Any number of words can appear between the specified words

How to Search the Library Catalogue To retrieve records that contain specified words in the relative order specified with the after expression, you can use AFTER to perform the search. e.g. science after security Note: Any number of words can appear between the specified words

How to Search the Library Catalogue You can also find all words that begin with the same root by adding ** after the root. e.g. comput**

How to Search the Library Catalogue If you just know the related subject or terms of the library material, you may perform a subject search. Click on the Subject link and type the subject or terms, e.g. environmental management to search.

How to Search the Library Catalogue The Call Number of a library item can be found on the spine of the item. You can use it to do a search. Click on the Call Number link and type the number. e.g. HA29 .B395 2012 to search.

How to Search the Library Catalogue The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) / International Standard Series Number (ISSN) are the unique number of a publication. You may use it to search by clicking the ISBN / ISSN link. e.g. 9780273773313

How to Search the Library Catalogue To limit a search by Author, Title, Author/Title or Keywords, you can further select a Specific Collection to perform the search. The collection includes Further Studies and Career Centre, Audio Visual, Reference, and Serials Collection.

How to Search the Library Catalogue If you cannot find a specific title in our library catalogue, you may want to have another attempt with other library catalogues including PolyU Library and HKALL.
