CT Characteristics and Pathologic Basis of Solitary Cystic Lung Cancer In a series of 93 patients, the majority (87.1%) of solitary cystic lung cancers were adenocarcinoma at pathologic examination; 7.5% of tumors were squamous cell carcinoma. Common CT features of solitary cystic lung cancer include nonuniform cyst walls (90.6%), cyst septations (58.5%), nodular walls (54.7%), ground-glass opacity around the cyst (50.0%), and irregular margins (39.6%).
