DNA Ch. 7: The Human Genome Why did the scientific community decide it was a good idea to spend 3 billion dollars sequencing a humans DNA? Describe some of the challenges of getting the HGP off the ground. (Give at least two.) The HGP was a collaboration of many laboratories. Describe the contrasting motivations of the public labs (MIT, Baylor, DOE, etc.) and private labs (Craig Venter) (pg 181-182) Do you think that one way is better than the other?
