Presentation transcript:

Production process- your product processing cards, technology Production management – project Poznan University of Technology

Manufacturing processes Explain what manufacturing processes are needed to make your product Summarize process(es) needed for each component Provide block diagram of manufacturing process (including assembly) for the complete product

Production system Explain the production system selected to make your product. Give a thorough description of the production system, including the various pieces of equipment. Elaborate on the equipment and the system configuration. Comment on equipment flexibility and reconfigurability. Explain why the equipment and system can handle cost-effectively the different product variants?

Processing Operations Shaping operations Solidification processes Particulate processing Deformation processes Material removal processes Property-enhancing operations (heat treatments) Surface processing operations Cleaning and surface treatments Coating and thin-film deposition

Assembly Operations Joining processes Mechanical assembly Welding Brazing and soldering Adhesive bonding Mechanical assembly Threaded fasteners (e.g., bolts and nuts, screws) Rivets Interference fits (e.g., press fitting, shrink fits) Other

Material Handling Material transport Storage systems Vehicles, e.g., forklift trucks, AGVs, monorails Conveyors Hoists and cranes Storage systems Unitizing equipment Automatic identification and data capture Bar codes RFID Other AIDC

Inspection and Testing Inspection – conformance to design specifications Inspection for variables - measuring Inspection of attributes – gauging Testing – observing the product (or part, material, subassembly) during operation

Routings and Operations Sheets

TASK to DO Draw block diagram for your final product For each component which you produce prepare processing cards Identify operations including quality control Identify equipment, machines, tooling Assume setup times and processing times Think about size of production batch?
