aids This is a severe loss of the body's cellular immunity, which would make fighting diseases almost impossible to survive.

HIV HIV stands for “human immunodeficiency virus” this is the virus that leads to Aids. Once you get HIV you have it for life. The virus attacks the immune system.

What is a virus? A virus is an infective agent that is a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat.

How does a virus reproduce? Viruses depend on the host cells they infect to reproduce, the reproduction may be more intense depending on the cells or less intense.

Where did it come from? It is believed that HIV came from chimpanzees. When they were hunted people could get infected from their blood.

The first case, and symptoms. Ken Horne was the first patient of HIV to be reported in San Francisco during the 1980s. His infection had fever and flue like symptoms.

How long does it take to develop AIDs? Around half of the people with HIV develop Aids within 10 years.

How many people have died total worldwide? 35 million people have died from Aids

How many people have been infected world wide? 70 million people have been infected by HIV throughout the whole world.

How many people have died in the US? More that 1.1 million people have been infected my HIV in the united States.

Conclusion Overall the infection of HIV is a very deadly and dangerous disease that is literally infecting the lives of millions of people across the world.
