Presentation transcript:

Why a Neighbourhood Plan? Legal status – development proposals will be judged against it Village Design Statement – update and extend to Stapleford Longer term vision – pro-active not reacting to development proposals Holistic approach – it all fits together Refresh the Stapleford Parish Plan Focus on land use and development but include other suggestions too

How will a plan benefit these villages? Why a Neighbourhood Plan here in Stapleford and Great Shelford? Managing development not rejecting it Protect the nature of the villages – the Trumpington effect? Keep separation from Cambridge while improving access to the green belt Why both villages together? Classed as a single “rural centre” (pop. 5890) in emerging local plan Many shared issues on future development and Shared village services?

Our Structure Steering Group mix of councillors and other residents of both parishes Four Spotlight Groups: Greenbelt and Access Housing Village Amenities Transport and travel
