Take out your homework and leave it on your desk DO NOW: Take out your homework and leave it on your desk

I will be able to make sense and persevere in solving real world and mathematical problems So that I can demonstrate my understanding by completing The Sneaking Up the Line problem with my group with at least 80% accuracy. 6.MP.1, 6 MP. 6

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the four language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing to communicate the academic math language required to solve puzzle oriented math problems. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding by completing The Sneaking Up the Line Problem with my group with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: Solution, predict, shorn, solution

You will work independently in your area of the paper (5 mins You will work independently in your area of the paper (5 mins.) on the Sneaking Up the Line Problem Next, you will share your ideas with your partners, and continue to work to complete the problem (10 mins.) Then you will present your solutions to the class (10 mins.) Finally, ticket to go and clean up (5 mins.)

Today’s Objective(s): Green Class I will use my knowledge of order of operations, expressions, factoring and distributing. So that I can review the concepts I will know I got it when I can accurately complete each station’s handout with my partners with at least 80% accuracy. 6.EE. 1-4

Language Objective (green class) By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of order of operations, expressions, factoring and distributing. They will be able to verbally review and write these concepts while using them in expressions and equations. Students will show they understand when they can accurately complete each station’s handout with their partners with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: order of operations, expression, factoring, distributing, equation.

Center Work (Green Class): Students are to: Read over the directions and problem(s) at each station. With your group, you will answer the problem(s) When the teacher tells you to, you will move to the next station and follow the directions. You will only have 12 minutes at each station.
