Student Success Our proactive student support, and a range of peer programs, are embedded within faculty courses and units We also offer a range of group based, peer enabled and drop in services for students through HiQ Plus, we have a range of student success programs: Career Mentoring, LDI and a range of Work Experience options More about HiQ : To ensure that these resources readily accessible to students, we’ve partnered with HiQ to create a central access point on campus for all language and learning, MSIT and career development services. Student will no longer have to navigate multiple shop fronts but will be able to access core services in a single location. The new HiQ space is specifically designed to support collaborative learning strategies and drop in support models. Fran will now provide you with a more detailed overview of the space before I walk you through our HiQ service catalogue. Student Success services that will operate out of the HiQ space are as follows: Language and Learning Drop In Support & 1-1 Consultations STIMULATE Drop in support & 1-1 Consultations (award winning teaching and support system – Math, Science & IT) Career Development Drop in Support & 1-1 Consultations HDR Support The service hours were determined based on prior student data. We will be offering after hours service one day per week later in the semester when student demand increases. We will adjust these service hours based on student usage and feedback. All 1-1 consultations are available over Zoom and we are working towards adding an online option for drop-in. More about career mentoring: -Career Mentoring Program is open to all students. Careers mentors will also be linked to Individual units Buddy and connector programs helps students towards employability. Great opportunity for international students, pathway to work experience.

Leadership, Development and Innovation (LDI) program Our LDI program will help you discover your strengths and leadership style and give you the practical skills and experience you’ll need to be a leader in your work, social or personal life. We offer a range of free workshops in: • leadership foundations • emotional intelligence • making the most of your university experience • intercultural competence • listening and speaking • personal excellence • organisational and community leadership • social justice and global change. LDI is one of our Student Success Programs There are three strands of program; Self leadership Leading with others Leading for a better world You can focus on one area of interest or start building towards a student leadership award. The LDI program offers formal recognition of your volunteer service and leadership roles at QUT through customised awards that reflect your individual university journey. Many volunteer opportunities available to build on your leadership experience. Program is free and open to all currently enrolled QUT students. Program is growing but reduced workshops, will be more connected to the curriculum Leadership and peer programs - we are leaders in peer-programs
