Disclaimer! This is a GENERAL presentation. Please work with your teachers, counselors and/or parents/guardians to select courses. If you have a case manager or are Ms. McCarthy’s student, please schedule with them!

English 4 credits of English are required to graduate. Options: Senior English AP English, Literature, and Language Or as assigned

Science 3 credits of Science are required to graduate. 3rd Science Biology course  Chemistry course  course or (SE) course Or as assigned.

Math 3 credits of Math are required to graduate. Or as assigned.

Social Studies 3 credits of Social Studies are required to graduate. World History or AP Human Geography US History or AP US History Economics AND Government or AP Government

Note: What are “Skinny” courses? A class ran 1st hour for only part of the period. Typically paired with a study hall or a second skinny course. Senior Skinny Courses: AP Calculus AB – a full year skinny AP Statistics – can be taken as a two term regular block course OR as a four term (all year) skinny course Select VANguard courses AP Psychology – a full year skinny

Physical Education 1.5 credits of PE are required to graduate. PE Waiver option - Junior athletes

Fine Arts Technology 1 credit is required to graduate. Anything listed with an * counts for the Fine Arts requirement. Technology 1 credit is required to graduate. Anything listed with ** counts for the Tech. requirement.

Electives Make sure that you list one course per line. Only one PE course per Term. You must build a complete schedule (all lines). Universities want to see academic rigor.

Foreign Language UW-Madison and UW-Eau Claire require three years of a single foreign language for admission. UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside and UW-Platteville have a foreign language requirement for college graduation.

Alternates You must choose at least six different classes for alternatives. You will fill more than six lines. List alternates in order of preference. We will use your alternates in the event that a course that you selected is cancelled and we cannot get a hold of you. In order to select enough regular & elective courses you need to list only ONE course number per line.

Next Steps Complete your Course Request Worksheet, seek input from current teachers, parents/guardians and counselors. Log In to Skyward/Family Access Dec 4-16 and enter your courses. Remember the courses you select NOW will be the courses you are expected to use during the Arena Scheduling Process. TAKE YOUR TIME!!! You will not be able to add or change your courses during Arena Scheduling. Make an appointment with your counselor if you have questions or concerns.
