Aim: To What extent was President Roosevelt’s “New Deal” more effective than Hoover's policies?

Do you believe being the 1st Lady is important? Do Now Do you believe being the 1st Lady is important? If so explain what role the president's wife plays.

FDR had polio and could not walk. His wife traveled the nation for him. 1. Feeling out the problems of the country and report back to FDR 2. Promote the President's New Deal policies

Why is this significant & what message was she sending? At a conference in Alabama where whites sat on one side and blacks on the other, the President's wife sat in the middle aisle. Why is this significant & what message was she sending?
