The Kindergarten Weekly News Writing and Handwriting Header Type here! The Kindergarten Weekly News 10/22/18-10/26/18 This Week’s Themes: The unit question for our 2nd reading unit is… How are animals and plants unique? What does a bear do that is unique? We will do some fun Fall/Halloween projects. Math Essential Question: How do you sort objects? Does the size of a shape change its shape? Objective: Find and describe flat shapes. Writing and Handwriting Writing: Journals (second stage of writing) which is drawing pictures and writing letters or words (sounding out words on their own phonetically) that align with prompt given by teacher. PSF writing drill- writing the CVC sounds for words given. Handwriting Without Tears: v,w,t Reading and Literature Story: Bear Snores On Comprehension: Realism and Fantasy Conventions: Adjectives for sizes, numbers, colors and shapes Amazing Words: sleep, cave, storm, winter, woods, blustery Unit Question: How are animals and flowers unique? Question of the week? What unique thing does a bear do in the winter? Sight Words: we, my, like Phonological Awareness: Counting words in a sentence and initial sounds, Rhyming, blending sounds and clapping syllables Genre: Realistic Fiction Letters: lowercase v, w, t Decodable Book: My Cap Science: Fall/Halloween Traditions

Kindergarten Fall Celebration Important Dates to Remember the next box. Field Trip Rocker 7 Farm Patch Tuesday, October 30th Please return your permission slip and $15.00 by October 25th. We need to start planning our groups for the trip and have a count how many students and chaperones are attending. Thank You! Kindergarten Fall Celebration Wednesday, October 31 1:15-2:40 Volunteers are needed to help with games and activities. Please send donations to school by Tuesday, October 30th. Please keep in mind that students will NOT be able to wear costumes to school.
