Kindergarten Q3 Learning Goals & Information Classroom News The Kindergarten Team Kindergarten Q3 Learning Goals & Information A peek at the Quarter + Mark Your Calendar * Math: Counting 0-40 Write and represent 0-20 Addition and subtraction (0-20) Comparing Lengths, Weight and Numbers Measuring 3D- Geometry Science: Law of Gravity Repeating pattern of Day & Night/Characteristics Objects in the sky/location Use five senses Create a visual representation of an object with major features Social Studies: Seasonal weather changes/how it affects people and the environment Recognize the importance of honoring MLK and other people from our past Describe jobs in the community and the tools used Recognize US currency (money) Reading: Syllables Beginning Sounds/Medial Sounds/Ending Sounds Rhyming Fiction/Non-Fiction stories Retell literary elements & story sequence January 21st – No School MLK Day January 25th – Books & Bagels / Book Fair Begins January 29th – STEAM Night (5:30-7:00PM) January 28th-Feb 1st – Book Fair Shopping February 12th – Early Dismissal February 18th – No School Presidents’ Day March 7th – End of Quarter 3 March 8th – No School March 11th -15th – Spring Break March 22nd – Q3 Report Cards go home A Note from Your Teachers: How Can You Help Your Child Learn Their Sight Words? Please remember to check your child’s folder every night! Homework and calendars will be inside nightly. Practice these letter sounds : Aa-Zz By the end of Q3 We are looking for rapid recognition of 40 sight words. Practice tying shoes Practice sight words every day! Have your child look for sight words all around. Use flash cards to have students practice the words. You can write your child's words on the mirror with a dry erase marker.
