This is a MOVEMENT TO CONTACT that OBJECTIVE This is a MOVEMENT TO CONTACT that develops into a SQUAD ATTACK. During the squad attack the SQUAD LEADER determines (METT-TC) that his/her squad cannot suppress the enemy with one (1) fire team. He/she deploys the fire team not in contact to establish a support- by-fire position. Normally, the squad will become the BASE-OF-FIRE ELEMENT for the platoon. The squad then responds to the Platoon Leader’s orders. RALLY POINT REQUIRED ACTIONS Step 1 – Action on Enemy Contact Step 2 – Locate the Enemy Step 3 – Suppress the Enemy Step 4 – Attack (if possible) Step 5 – Consolidate and Reorganize NOTE: This is a technique and is METT-TC dependent. Guidance and direction from higher MUST also be considered during execution. TL G R AR SL AA SECURITY LD LD LD TL AR R G NOT DRAWN TO SCALE
