Paragraph 2: Exposition There is no sentence-by-sentence outline of this paragraph. What you need to do: Give me at least 8 sentences. Introduce the setting. Introduce your characters with direct characterization. Use at least 10 adjectives. Use at least one metaphor or simile. Use only 3 linking verbs in this paragraph.

Paragraph 3: Rising Action There is no sentence-by-sentence outline of this paragraph. What you need to do: Give me at least 12 sentences. Detail the events that lead to the impactful moment. Use present tense. Use at least 4 adverbs. Use at least 4 adjectives. Use at least one metaphor, simile, or personification. NO LINKING VERBS! Active Voice ONLY!

Paragraph 7: Conclusion Sentence 1-2: Summarize the story briefly. Sentence 3-6: Summarize the impacts it has had on you. Sentence 7: Conclude with a statement that leaves your audience thinking.

AEC Essay Revision Highlight the thesis statement. Highlight the paragraph assertions in blue. Highlight the evidence in the paragraphs in green. In pencil, circle the citations and quotation marks. In red pen, circle misspelled words, usage, or punctuation errors. Highlight the paragraph commentary in yellow. Underline the paragraph conclusions. In red pen, circle the linking verbs in the commentary. On the back of the paper, put your first and last name and explain whether or not this essay successfully argued the theme from the parallel episodes. Lastly, read the paragraph over once more. Then, write on the back of the paper whether or not the essay made sense to you. Explain to the author why or why not.
