To Whom It May Concern, It is my pleasure to write this letter to recommend Heather Breitenstein as a teacher. I have had the pleasure to work with Mrs. Breitenstein on the first grade team and observe her hard work and dedication on a daily basis, which has been a great privelege. Mrs. Breitenstein has a creative way of presenting information that reaches all young learners according to their learning styles. It is amazing to see the level of her students’ independence, competence, and excitement to learn. Mrs. Breitenstein quickly learned and adopted our school’s model of teaching reading and writing. I have seen her instill a love of reading and writing in her students and they have excelled as a result. It is evident in Mrs. Breitenstein’s daily interaction with parents that she has established positive relationships, and they know she will accept their child and focus on their student’s strengths rather than their weaknesses. She is in constant communication with parents and finds creative ways to get them involved in their child’s education. Letters, daily agenda communication, parent/teacher conferences, and phone calls are just a few of the ways she successfully makes that home connection. She goes beyond the call of duty each and every day when it comes to making a difference in each child’s life and education. Being a new teacher in a school in the middle of the year is not easy, but Heather Breitenstein approached the situation like a true professional. She was amenable to new procedures, took the initiative, and became a valued member of the first grade team. Heather Breitenstein is living proof that there is no “I” in the word team. Her creative ideas are always shared, before her colleagues even request them. At Professional Learning Community Meetings, Mrs. Breitenstein is insightful and constructive. She has become an integral part of the Thornwilde Elementary first grade team, showing a dedication to our teaching staff. I am honored to be asked to write this recommendation on behalf of a true professional. Sincerely, Amanda Davis 1st Grade Teacher Thornwilde Elementary amanda.davis@boone.kyschools.us
