I. Trend of TB Cases and Deaths

From this year on Extrapolation/targets WHO estimates in 97 From this year on Extrapolation/targets MDG targets

II.Estimates of Incidence,Prev and Deaths Prevalence of Sm+ / 100,000 pop: - Estimated in 1997 by WHO :428 - Prevalence survey 2002 (pre result): 270 - Target set for 2015 (CMDG) : 135 based on WHO estimates Deaths / 100,000 pop: - No vital registration - Estimated in 1997 by WHO :90 - Updated every year by WHO:2004 report :107 - CFR increasing from 2 % in’98 to 4 % in 2002 - Rough estimation ( by M. incidence * CFR)~114 - Target set for 2015 (CMDG) : 32 based on WHO estimates

III.Some Factors/Concerns Cases and deaths of TB in Cambodia still increasing DOTS Accessibility: - 1994-1999: only at hospital level - 2000-now : DOTS expansion to health centers ( DOTS coverage at HC :85% in 2003) Impact of HIV/AIDS - HIV prevalence in adult 2.6 % HIV among TB patients still on increasing trend from 2.5 % in 1995 to 12% in 2003 Proportion Sm- and extrapul TB very small Over-estimation VS under-estimation Thank You
