“By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did “By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.” (Hebrews 11:4)

Why did God accept Abel’s offering and not Cain’s? Abel’s offering was given by faith, which God found pleasing, whereas Cain’s was not When we acknowledge that God has given us all of creation as an intentional, orderly and “very good” gift, it ought to motivate us to return to God similar “very good” gifts.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:1-2) Does my life display a knowledge of God’s existence and His excellence?
