Reminders about Unit 5 Projects The Unit 5 Projects focus on critiquing the Unit 4 Live Presentations—your own and a group mate’s. Please carefully read the rubrics (project breakdown and points) in the Assignment List. Unit 5 projects are due no later than Sunday, May 29, at 11:59:59 P.M. CT, which is when the course ends. No late work, please--thanks! Use the project rubrics as checklists to maximize project points
Unit 5 IP Body is 4 – 5 pages (double-spaced 6th edition APA-style essay) that appropriately discuss the topic; other required pages—cover page, abstract, References page listing sources used in the report (not the References page from the PPT) are additional (7 - 8 pages total) Discusses in-depth all seven (7) bullet points in the Assignment List Include required checklist before the conclusion Checklist does not use the paragraph format. It is a list aimed at your specific needs for improvement, not a general speech checklist. It goes just before the conclusion.
Unit 5 IP (continued) Use regular transitional sentences, NOT subheadings, when you move to a new bullet point. Do not set off the introduction, body, checklist or conclusion with subheadings or put them on separate pages. The report should flow evenly from beginning to end Do NOT include the References page from the PowerPoint. Make a References page for the Unit 5 essay, which requires support quotations to back up your opinions and your analysis The in-text source citations will provide the references for the References page, which will be the last page of the report
Unit 5 DB Project Essay analyzes “one of your group member’s Live Presentation and delivery” as we discussed in your presentation time block Includes 4 – 5 substantive paragraphs [minimum of 8 sentences each], about 2 pages of the required standard essay format Discusses at least three (3) of the six (6) bullet points from the Assignment List Includes support quotations for all concepts that are discussed and appropriate source citations
Unit 5 DB Project (continued) Essay includes specific examples to illustrate your claims The Unit 4 presentations are archived in the Live Chat Session area Essay follows standard essay format and includes all parts of the format in accordance with the “AIU APA Guide.”
Unit 5 DB Project (continued) Substantive paragraph-long [8 sentences minimum each] peer postings about 2 or more classmates’ analyses (their Unit 5 DB Projects), NOT additional Unit 4 Live Presentations These cannot be brief or just compliments, agreements or disagreements ; they should discuss analyses of classmates’ projects, not analyses of your own project Follow the guidelines for appropriate DB responses in the “Read This First” DB forum I hope this helps!
