Important Words to End the Year Servant

How would you respond if Jesus washed your feet?

At the root of our faith lies the truth that Almighty God humbled Himself to serve and die for us God wants us to resemble His Son and not a member Do we gather together looking to serve? Imagine gathering with a group trying to out serve one another

What is the church producing?

Philippians 2:5-8

Perfect Model of Service What kind of mind did Christ have toward us? That same attitude should be with us Not an attitude of selfish ambition, conceit, or only looking after ourselves

Jesus existed in the form of God He didn’t think of His high position as something to be grasped He willingly emptied Himself of His reputation He gave up some of His glory to serve others

How did He do this? He took on the form of a bondservant (slave) Jesus didn’t come pretending to serve He took the form of a bondservant He became one of us and dwelt among us

Some are willing to follow Christ if it doesn’t cost them How can we think or act differently when we think of the depths of Christ’s service toward us Jesus served mankind by meeting the greatest need through His obedience of death Do we get this?

Practices of people who look toward serving others Those who look toward serving are outgoing in a sense We are relational people Jesus was constantly serving in homes, neighborhoods, and breaking cultural boundaries to build relationships

Could we have the mind in Christ and serve someone outside our familiar circle? Maybe reach out to learn “People don’t care how much you know until they see how much you care”

Serve with a purpose We become treasure seekers We dig to discover the story and gifts that lie beneath the surface Jesus asked challenging questions to get people to see Him for more This requires us to going beyond small talk

Serve others with our resources Help serve others with resources Most of us are on the receiving end of someone’s resource These people who helped us could of said no Jesus could have stayed in heaven

Pray for opportunities to help serve someone and open the door with that person for Jesus People are more willing to hear us if we are eager to serve

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus
