Tasks for the SPC SPCC/1 – Telcom, Fall, 2018 Review and finalize Main Classifications (MC) and Sub-classifications Select members of the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) SPCC/2 – January 16-17, 2019 Agree to synoptic table Select invited orals from those proposed by SPCC / SPC / OC Select Opening/Closing plenary topics/speakers Discuss Industry and Special Session speakers SPCC/3 – June TBD, 2019 Select contributed orals from submitted abstracts Select Session Chairs Finalize any outstanding program issues May have an early review of contributed abstracts (?April?) to facilitate visa applications

NAPAC Goals NAPAC is a US domestic conference aimed at students, postdocs, technicians, engineers, and early career scientists who may have limited approval for foreign travel. The character of the meeting is different from IPAC with attendance of ~500 people and ~100 students. Goals: Provide a broad view of AS&T with updates current advances Provide opportunity for early career members of the field to discuss their work and engage with more senior researchers Provide educational opportunities new members of the field Provide an opportunity to develop new contacts and strengthen existing collaborations 

Timeline to NAPAC’19 – check web! 2018 Formation of OC, SPC, and LOC October: SPCC Telcom Main Classifications and Program Structure (2 parallel sessions; 15 min contrib) November: Invited abstracts suggestions from SPC, SPCC, and OC 2019 Jan: Open for contributed abstracts Jan: SPCC2 – develop invited program and synoptic table Feb: PACOC approves invited program; invitations sent April: review of contributed abstracts by email – obvious talks? May 31: close of abstract submission – start QC and prioritization Mid-June: SPCC3 – develop contributed oral program (doodle poll) September: NAPAC'19

NAPAC’19 Talk Formats Plan to use 30 minutes for invited talks and 15 minutes for contributed with invited allocating 4 minutes for questions and 1 minute to change, i.e. invited talks are 25 minutes + 4 minutes + 1 minute, and contributed 2 minutes for questions and 1 minute to change. In a morning session (1.5 hrs)  3 invited talks or 1 invited and 3 contributed In an afternoon session (2 hrs)  4 invited or 6 contributed or 2 invited and 3 contributed Common start/end times allow people to switch sessions more easily
