Interaction pathways through the FAIRMODE web portal Members’ area FAIRMODE members FAQ Guidance Document Other users Discussion Forum  How can we guide the user to find answers? MDS

Discussion forum Can the Discussion Forum encourage communication and solve problems? Access policy: Personal accounts are necessary for the Members’ area. Are they necessary for the Discussion Forum? What should the role of the FAIRMODE members/experts be regarding the Discussion Forum?

A FAQ? A FAQ could be a starting point for a user/modeller towards the appropriate information source. Should probably include questions for each regulation purpose mentioned/implied in the AQD. SGs can contribute with questions! A link could be established between the FAQ and a searchable html version of the Guidance Document. A link could be established between a FAQ and the MDS.

FAQ section (1) General questions on models/modelling Why are models used instead of monitoring When is modelling required by the AQD … Questions on the Guidance Document What topics does the Guidance on the use of models cover? Am I obliged to use the Guidance on the use of models?

FAQ section (2) Questions on model selection and use Are there appropriate models for specific pollutants? What are the current regulatory models in the EU? Does the EU recommend the use of specific models? How do I know if a model is validated? What is the difference between receptor and dispersion models? What kind of input information do receptor/dispersion models require? Are some models used more frequently than others? Why? How can I select the appropriate model for my purpose/area? What model results are required in EU country reports/air quality plans? No duplication between the FAQ and GD-> act as a link TO the GD.

Issues for discussion… Members’ area: does it help? How can we use it more efficiently? Registration of contributors to WGs and SGs. How can we improve the process? Accounts for purposes of light supervision
