A college education has become increasingly important to securing a job – especially in STEM Postsecondary education is necessary for most jobs: By 2020, 65% of all jobs in the economy will require postsecondary education and training beyond high school.1 But these degrees are even more necessary for STEM jobs: More than 90% of all STEM occupations require at least some postsecondary education or training.2 However, at the current production rate, the United States will fall short by 5 million workers who have postsecondary education by 2020.3 1.
