Earth Day Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22. The day focuses attention on the importance of Environment and Climate Literacy. The first Earth Day was in 1970 and was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-Wisconsin) as an environmental teach-in for school children. We need to ensure that students are sensitized towards this Global issue by organizing various activities.

History  Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year. This year’s theme is : “Environment and Climate Literacy”.

How to contribute? Plan and carry out any one activity to advocate climate literacy in day to day life . You can choose from the below mentioned activities for your class or you can work on your own idea. - Create a poster/infographics on how to save Earth - Prepare handouts to be put up on the class bulletin board - Write a poem - Make a flip book on ways to save earth Note: Do make sure that you take lots of pictures of the activities conducted by you.

How will you collaborate? In order to collaborate you need to fill up the form. Once you will fill the form you will receive the link of one note notebook. After completing the activities you are requested to add your content to the OneNote. You can also join us on Facebook to receive the latest updates, ask questions and to keep in touch with other participants of the project. You can also pair up with a classroom in another part of the world to collaborate and share your ideas through Skype.

Skype Call During the skype call:- Children from each class will share their ideas. What did they like? What did they learn from the project?
