Globalization

Globalization and economics… The goal of any business is to make money. With many businesses, expansion and growth is often a result of a company that has done very well in their respective industry.

Growth for a business is often times very good because it allows them to reach out to more consumers, which in turn makes them more money. With that, expansion for many companies is not limited to only one city or state rather the world.

Globalization - Expanding/spreading of something worldwide. Ex: Knowledge, disease, cultures, business, empires

International Trade : Trading of goods between two or more countries Imports – goods coming from foreign countries Ex: oil, cars, medicines Exports – goods going to foreign countries Ex: apparel, agriculture, aircraft material

*One important effect of globalization has been cultural diffusion

Further results… In the past 20 years we have seen globalization take place at a much more rapid pace thanks to the increase of communication and technology. Faster transportation methods as well as the advent of the internet have contributed very much to the speed of the globalization process.
