Chemistry The Bridge of the Sciences

What are the Sciences?  A Science is a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws.  There are 4 Fields of Science: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology  These Sciences supplement each other and help in increasing Human Knowledge.

The Sciences and their Relation  Mathematics: The study of topics such as quantity, structure, space, and change.  Physics: The natural science that studies matter, its motion, and behavior through space and time, and that studies the related entities of energy and force.  Chemistry: The scientific discipline involved with atoms, molecules and ions and their composition, structure, properties, behavior and the changes they undergo.  Biology: The natural science that studies life and living organisms  Mathematics is regarded as the mother science. It acts as the language for Physics  Chemistry is applied Physics of atomic and molecular systems.  Biology is applied Chemistry to the extent of proteins, enzymes, hormones and cells.  Mathematics: The study of topics such as quantity, structure, space, and change. The History of the Sciences  Physics or the study of natural phenomena is the evolved form of Natural Philosophy  Chemistry owes its existence to Alchemy : a primitive study of matter  Biology was segregated from Natural Philosophy too.  While Mathematics was one of the earliest form of knowledge made by humans.  Until the mid 15 th to 16 th centuries, the sciences grew parallel from each other.  Physics or the study of natural phenomena is the evolved form of Natural Philosophy  Chemistry owes its existence to Alchemy : a primitive study of matter  Biology was segregated from Natural Philosophy too.  While Mathematics was one of the earliest form of knowledge made by humans.  Until the mid 15 th to 16 th centuries, the sciences grew parallel from each other.

The Gap of Science  The two parallel sciences of Physics and Biology form a gap as no direct relation exists between the two.  While Physics studies inanimate objects with the rigorous application of Mathematics, Biology studies life which works solely on the Laws of Nature and no fixed Mathematics is involved.  These two sciences find no common proper field of study with absolute affiliation.  The two parallel sciences of Physics and Biology form a gap as no direct relation exists between the two.  While Physics studies inanimate objects with the rigorous application of Mathematics, Biology studies life which works solely on the Laws of Nature and no fixed Mathematics is involved.  These two sciences find no common proper field of study with absolute affiliation.

The Bridge  Chemistry acts as the Bridge to the Gap with Physics at one end and Biology at another.  This makes it a crucial and central science important for human development.  Chemistry has fields like Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry which are interdisciplinary and provide links to the other sciences.  Physics →Physical Chemistry→ Inorganic Chemistry→ Organic Chemistry→ Biochemistry→ Biology  The Bridge of Chemistry helps us move from inanimate mathematical objects to increasingly complex living structures and systems.  Chemistry acts as the Bridge to the Gap with Physics at one end and Biology at another.
