Campfire News Around the Campfire Week of March 11-15 Camp First Grade Spanish Phrase of the Week is: Respeto   (Respect) Inquiry into Math: We will practice applying our understanding of the equal sign to determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. Inquiry into Literacy: We will continue our two-week long unit on Inventors. We will explore the lives of: Garrett Morgan, Dr. George Washington Carver and the Wright Brothers this week! We will be identifying lots of key details about these important figures. Letterland Unit 22: Children learn about Long o as in oa and ow. The ow as in low is explained with a story about the mischievous Walter Walrus (Example: boat, know, and low) Writer’s Workshop: We will be creating a variety of informational reports/projects that detail important facts about the inventors studied this week. Inquiry into Science: We will continue to explore the importance of a push or pull to change the motion of an object. Inquiry into Social Studies: We will explore how people use natural resources in the community.
