Important ancient cities-kingdoms of Cyprus : Kourion Amathous Famagousta gate is the largest gate of the Venetian walls of Nicosia.

Nicosia is built right in the middle of the island. It is also known by its ancient name Ledra, and is considered to be a very interesting town. It has a lot of historical buildings and several sightseeing spots which attract a lot of tourists.

The Cyprus Museum is the oldest and largest archaeological museum in Cyprus. It houses the most extensive collection of Cyprus antiquities in the world. Nicosia is the only city in Europe that it still divided because of the Turkish invasion. The northern part of the capital is still under Turkeys occupation.

Ledra Street is a major shopping pedestrian road in the centre of Nicosia. It has got many shops and restaurants. Nicosia is also a modern commercial centre with shopping malls, restaurants and entertainment places. Nicosia combines history, tradition and modern life.

CYPRIOT CUISINE In ancient times it was said that Cyprus invented the art of good living, and the islands name was linked with luxury to both the gods and humans. Food and drink is synonymous with life and love.

Everything seems to revolve around food and drink, and a meal never seems to be a small affair. Dining is always a celebration - an excuse to get friends and family together on an almost daily basis - to relax, banter, and discuss the topics of the day.

In Cyprus we have a lot of celebrations and festivals as Carnival, Wine, Beer, Dance and Theatre festival.

Makarios Archbishop Makarios is possibly one of the most famous Cypriots. He was born in Panayia Village in the Paphos on August 13, His secular name was Michael Christodoulou Mouskos. He died on August 3, 1977.In Nicosia Makarios was Archbishop of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Cyprus from 1950 until his death. Also he was the first President of the Republic of Cyprus from 1960 until his death in 1977.

Christopher Pissarides Christopher Pissarides born on February 20, 1948 and is a Cypriot economist. He was honored the 2010 Nobel Prize in Economics, along with D. Mortensen and P. Diamond for his contribution to the theory of search frictions and the macro economy. He currently holds the Norman Sosnow Chair in Economics at the London School of Economics. Marcos Baghdatis Marcos Baghdatis is a professional tennis player. Born on June 1, 1985 in Limassol, He is the son of a Lebanese father, (Christos) who migrated to Cyprus and a Greek Cypriot mother. Our school has three grades and the students are Our school day begins at 7:30 am and finishes at 1:35 pm. P.E. Chemistry Chemistry Music Music Computer science Computer science Design and Technology Design and Technology

Our students participate in sport and grammar competitions. We have a choir and a dance group. Every year we give a big sum of money to Unicef and other charities.

Our school is an eco school and we recycle paper and P.M.D. We have many activities like combating drugs and smoking. Last year our school won the first prize of the national competition for smoke-free Schools.

Our school is near to the buffer zone and we can see barbed wire, guards and foreign flags. Some of the students are refugees. However our school system helps us to enjoy our lives in a world of peace accommodating diversity.
