Discussion - Block 2 Chapter 2 of basic document discussion with focus on linkages between policies, i.e. tables 2.7+2.8 achieving common understanding, e.g. on terminology identification of questions to be addressed written procedure for finalising. Chapter need to be finalised for presentation at WD meeting in December

Discussion – Block 3 (1) Chapter 3 of basic document principle agreement on Conceptual Framework (fig3.2) is this applicable for all water categories? is there a need for adaptations? identification of main points to be addressed by subgroups (1) rivers; (2) lakes; (3) coastal waters (incl. transitional and marine waters)

Discussion – Block 3 (2) Main elements for mandate of subgroups: identify need to adapt conceptual framework (fig 3.2) refine checklist (table 3.2) identify implications for e.g. monitoring, development of assessment criteria, how to identify class borders, etc. what would be possible to achieve and how best to continue in 2005
