History PowToon was founded in January 2012  (Data version) Ilya Spitalnik (Co-Founder and CEO) Daniel Zaturansky (Co-Founder and COO) Aim  To establish a new presentation category called “powtoon” – a combination of presentation and animated cartoon   In December 2012 PowToon secured $600,000 investment from LA based Venture Capital firm Startup Minds.  In February 2013 PowToon introduced a free account option allowing users to create animated videos that can be exported to YouTube

Types of membership ) In Powtoon, you have 2 types of subscriptions, Premium and Pay per Export. *In the Premium subscription, you can either have a yearly or monthly subscription and of course the price won’t be the same. There are a lot of benefits for subscribers, such as HQ videos, no watermark and monetization rights. *With the Pay per Export subscription, you will pay according to the videos you use. Also, you will be able to create longer videos, and have a full control of the privacy.

PowToon’s characteristics Features PowToon’s characteristics PowToon can be used for a variety of purposes and audiences pre-created objects, imported images, provided music and user created voice-overs EngagementUsing animations in place of traditional presentations increase engagement with content. FlexibilityEven with the library of pre-created objects, the ability to import images and music, add text and create voiceovers means that Alternative way to present material Engaging, fun and different Web-based, can be downloaded.

Pedagogical uses Teachers: Can use it as a content presentation tool Teachers can use it as homework, by sending the PowToon to students’ e-mails so they can check them in their houses Teachers can perform a class based on this interactive tool, since it has a lot of edition tools, students can interact with it in the same classroom by using a wireless mouse Students : Form of assessment Students will be more engaged in teacher created presentations, as well as in creating their own as a form of assessment.
