What is a Deacon? Proven (Tested) Servant (1 Tim 3:10) The seven were proven men (Acts 6:3)

What is a Deacon? Self Controlled (1 Tim 3:8) Reverent: dignified, honorable, honest Not double tongued: believable, will not say two different things Not given to wine or greedy for money: motivated by God’s will, rather than by sinful appetites (Acts 6:3, 5, 8)

What is a Deacon? Respected In His Home (1 Tim 3:11-12) His wife: reverent (honorable, dignified), not slanderous (gossips), but temperate (self- controlled), faithful (trustworthy) in all things His children: ruled well and behave well
