How MyOMLab Helps This is a walkthrough that hopefully can show you why so many students who use MyOMLab to the fullest end up learning a lot more and achieving higher grades than those who solely rely on the textbook. Online components can often be more trouble than they’re worth, especially if you’ve no real idea of how to use them, and so this presentation is designed to show you around the website, its tools, and the point behind using them.

This is the main page of MyOMLab; click on the sidebar to access website features, the biggest of these being the online version of your textbook. Self-Study Tools and EText

The e-text is navigable either by using the drop-down menu under its title, or by flipping through pages individually. The page can be magnified for easier reading on smaller devices, such as tablets or iPhones. Each page is full-colour and printable.

Evaluation Tools Check out the “Homework” and “Quizzes and Tests” tabs. Your teacher will assign your online homework in the former tab; the latter one has practice material for you in addition to graded materials.

In Tests and Quizzes, you can view the available content, which ones you’ve attempted, which ones you have yet to try, and your scores for each. Right now, the only ones shown are the sample ones you can practice; if your teacher decides to have online quizzes for marks, they’ll be shown in a separate grid.

Here’s an example test question; it tells you how many questions there are, how much each question is worth, and includes a calculator.

The Study Plan page takes your scores from completed quizzes and tests and processes them in order to tell you which areas you’ve mastered and which ones you need to work on. It’ll customize your study materials to your individual needs.

The download centre includes links to all interactive material that supplement your textbook and online tools.
