CLC Data Definitions Consistency Project

Data Consistency Project team: Polly Porteous, NACLC: polly.porteous@naclc.org.au Carly Hanson, CLCQ: sdo@communitylegalqld.org.au Kieran Prendergast, Victorian Federation of CLCs: datastandards@fclc.org.au

Outcomes of the project CLCs collect, understand and use accurate and consistent data and information about the services they deliver, to inform their service planning and service provision decisions.

Deliverables A CLC Data Consistency Guide: a set of agreed data definitions and business rules for how CLCs interpret the National Data Standards for Legal Assistance Services A training program to embed a strong understanding across the CLC sector about the Guide business rules Update CLASS User Guide, RMG and other CLC resources to reinforce and facilitate the usage of the agreed data definitions and business rules.

Timeframe – what’s happened to date 2015 National Data Standards for Legal Assistance Service 2017 March CLASS rolled out across CLC sector with the new legal service types 2017 August National Conference discussion about data standards 2017-2018 - NSW PII Network and CLCQ discussions 2018 July - NACLC, CLCQ and Victorian Federation establish Project

Timeframe - the Project 2018 July-October: Phase 1 Consultation & development Initial consultation with CLCs, SPMs, Networks Drafting of the Guide Consultation on Guide Advisory Council discussion /sign-off October 2018 Nov – Jan 2019: Phase 2 Training resources Development of training resources – webinars, Cheat Sheets etc 2019 Jan-June – Phase 3: Training
