Put H.W. on corner of your desk. (teacher will walk and check) DO NOW: Put H.W. on corner of your desk. (teacher will walk and check) Complete a post test (20 minutes) Pick up a “STUDY GUIDE” and complete “STUDY GUIDE” 10 mins. INDEPENDENTLY 5 mins. with partner 15 mins. with class TEST TOMORROW!

Today’s Objective(s): I will be able to apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. So I can learn how to: Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values Understand a rational number as a point on the number line.  Understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers. Solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Including the use of coordinates and absolute value to find distances between points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. I will show how I learned this by writing the solutions to my study guide independently and then verbally discuss my answers with my partners with at least 80% accuracy. 6.ns.c.5-8

Vocabulary: Integers rational number absolute value number line coordinate plane Quadrants ordered pairs Coordinates Distance Axes
