How To Draw a Bear 1 Choose a brown coloured pencil and draw the outline of your bear. You could look at photographs for reference, in a magazine or book. The shape doesn't have to be perfect, it's more important to get the character of the bear. Add the features of the bear - the eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Think about what mood the bear is in, how does it feel? How can you show this in the expression? 2 3 Add colour to the bear. You could use brown paint - perhaps watercolour, pastels or colouring pencils. 4 Add details to the bear using a sharp brown coloured pencil, or a small paintbrush and paint. Add claws and hairs. The Variety of Life by Nicola Davies and Lorna Scobie A glorious celebration of the animal kingdom by non-fiction specialist Nicola Davies, illustrated by Lorna Scobie, creators of the beautiful The Variety of Life. There is something to delight on every page with fascinating facts and figures. This exquisite book will encourage children to treasure the world's biodiversity and help to stop it slipping away.
