Dual Enrollment Guide

Dual Enrollment Students interested in taking ON campus or OFF campus dual enrollment must first attend a mandatory orientation at one of the EFSC campuses. Orientation dates and Dual Enrollment Reference Guide are listed on the PBMHS edline website under guidance. Students must bring an official copy of their high school transcript and a completed application to participate in an EFSC orientation.

Required Orientation Schedule

Early Admissions at EFSC Any junior who has an unweighted 3.0 State GPA, has passing test scores on the SAT, ACT or PERT test, and will have completed most of their high school graduation requirements by the end of their junior year may apply to the Early Admissions Program at EFSC for the 2019-20 school year. Applications will be available during registration – ask your counselor! Application Deadline for the EA program will be Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Early Admissions All subject-area graduation requirements MUST be completed prior to 12th grade except for: 0.5 Performing Arts credit 1.0 English credit 1.0 Math credit 1.0 Science credit 1.0 Social Studies credit These requirements may be completed at EFSC.

Advanced Placement Courses Advanced Placement courses are considered the most rigorous course you can take on the high school campus. AP courses will be added to a students schedule once an AP Letter of Intent has been completed, signed by student and parent and turned into your guidance counselor. AP Letters of Intent can be picked up in guidance or in the auditorium during registration dates.

2019-20 Registration Worksheet

Next: Pick out electives you are interested in taking and/or need for graduation and review the course descriptions online at the PBMHS website under guidance. List back up electives on your Registration Worksheet Make Good Choices! List all FIVE electives just in case one or more of your first choices close or are cancelled. Choose electives you can live with if your scheduled into them – don’t just put something down!

Registration Tips Be sure to make all of your elective choices prior to your scheduled registration date on the worksheet. Be sure you have included your student number and email address. If you do not have an English class, please see your guidance counselor in the guidance office on the scheduled Monday make-up day (4/1/19). Please visit the guidance table on Tuesday, in the lunchroom, if you have any questions about registration or course selection.

Registration Dates: You will meet individually with your guidance counselor, in the auditorium, on the following date to review your elective choices: Monday, March 25           Eller, Raines (7th pd only), Braun, B Tuesday, March 26           Winchester, Metz Wednesday, March 27    Georgeff, Ponton, Foster Thursday, March 28        Briand, Hartzog Monday, April 1 Make-up Registration in the Guidance office. Any student who is absent during their scheduled visit may attend the Monday make-up date with a pass from your English teacher. Additionally, any student who does not have an English class may attend the Monday make-up date with a pass from their teacher.

Step 3 Meet Individually with your guidance counselor on your scheduled date to review your elective choices. At the end of your counselor meeting you will receive a printed copy of your academic & elective requests for the 2019-2020 school year. Students will have until Friday, June 21st to update or change any of their elective choices for next year. Any student wishing to change an academic course must have their parent contact their guidance counselor to discuss a change. The Guidance office will be open all summer, Monday through Thursday, from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Please call to schedule an appointment.
