Job Performance Requirement 10-14 Advancing an Accordion Load
A A nozzle or other appliance is attached to the end of the hose and the desired amount is selected. JPR 10-14A
B The firefighter pulls the amount of hose about halfway out of the bed and places it on one shoulder with the nozzle at the bottom. Use care not to have too much of the hose in front, which could cause tripping—it is better to drag the excess behind. JPR 10-14B
C Step away from the bed. Pull additional folds and drop them to the ground. JPR 10-14C
D When the point is reached where the shoulder load is to be deployed, the firefighter allows the hose to flake off one fold at a time while moving forward. JPR 10-14D
