I use the introduction slides when I first expose my students to sketchnoting. It takes us 20 to 40 minutes to cover the information (depending on whether I let students explore the 50/50 rule and braindoodles.net) I always watch the sketchnofrenzy video twice. The first time, students just watch. The second time, students are asked to take sketchnotes about sketchnoting. They will be slow, but they will still capture the most important ideas. Ask students to compare their approaches (both for extended understanding and fun.) Starting the next day (or week), you can then use the exercise portion to move into Step 2: Developing Skills. Complete one exercise a day. I use it as a silent entry-task as soon as students sit down. Note to Teachers
