Thursday, September 20, 2012 Standards/Objective: TLW demonstrate an understanding of how body systems interact by using and sketching the model of bones and muscles working to move an arm from pages 50 to 51 in textbook. Warm-up: Review the hierarchy of: Organelles  cells  tissues  organs  systems Instruction: Now, organ systems also work together to perform life processes Bones form the skeletal system. Muscles work together to form muscular system. But the skeletal and muscular system work together to help you move. Muscles attached to your bones allow your bones to move, like your arm Muscles always work in pairs. When one flexes (contracts), the other extends (relaxes). In your arm, you have your biceps and triceps. Point this out on your arm. Guided Practice: LW put together their model arm (TG p. 50-51). In your notebooks, draw a diagram of what your model arm looks like.
