Secure Supply Fields of action Prolonged interruptions of the water supply are virtually unknown in Germany, thanks to the high technical standards of water treatment and distribution systems and the continuous maintenance of the distribution networks.
Efficient treatment Fields of action In Germany, everyone can obtain water straight from the tap: clean, in sufficient quantities, at a reasonable price and 24 hours a day.
Sustainable use Fields of action The approach of Integrated Water Resources Management is compulsory in the German water sector. Various science programs are working on the development of IWRM concepts for model regions in developing and emerging countries.
Capacity development Fields of action Support and cooperation programs in more than a hundred countries have established strong links between those who supply German technology and those who use it. The German Government is the third-largest bilateral donor in the field of water sector development cooperation.
