Call Button The call button is a very convenient tool to have, allowing passengers to contact a flight attendant without leaving their seats. However, sometimes flight attendants don’t come immediately after the button has been pressed. Why? Are they indifferent to the need of the passengers? Absolutely not. Flight attendants are often too busy with preparatory or other work to respond right away to a call, or perhaps they simply didn’t notice it. When there is an intense or dangerous situation, such as when the airplane is approaching an area of turbulence, flight attendants won’t be able to respond to calls either. There is also the possibility that a passenger didn’t press the button correctly, or they pressed it just for fun. In such cases, flight attendants have to explain to passengers why they couldn’t respond to the call in the first place.
