But they were silent. 5 And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. Emotions Are Not Emotionalism Defined; strong or excess appeal to the emotions, a tendency to display or respond with undue emotion [Jer 17:9 ESV] 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? [Jer 10:23 ESV] 23 I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

Emotions Are Not Emotionalism [1Co 2:14 ESV] 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. [Phl 4:6 ESV] 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Emotions CAN Glorify God [2Pe 1:5-6 ESV] 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self- control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,

Emotions CAN Glorify God [Tit 2:1-8 ESV] 1 But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. 2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self- controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self- controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. 7 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

Emotions CAN Glorify God [1Th 4:13 ESV] 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
