Overview of Process When a church survey as we have conducted is under taken, generally only 10-15% of the congregation participates However, our Session felt it important for all to have the opportunity for input Notices in the bulletin notified of Survey Sunday Our e-newsletter announced Survey Sunday Survey Sunday all in attendance took the survey Jeremiah 29:11 Deuteronomy 31:6

Overview of Process Those unable to attend on Survey Sunday were offered the opportunity to come into church office to take survey within a 4 week period Over 200 surveys were provided to the consultant Phone interviews were also conducted with a cross section of congregation

Consultant’s Positive Findings Spiritual practices, such as personal prayer and bible study, is a strength amongst those who took the survey 78% described themselves as growing spiritually Impressively, 66% stated their bible knowledge was increasing

Consultant’s Positive Findings Vast majority are pleased with their Sunday morning experience. So much so that 40% have invited someone to church in the past 6 months. Pastor Andrea’s preaching scored very high We are financially stable

Observations Communication from leadership to congregation is not as clear as it should be Those who currently volunteer are overburdened as there are many needs The duties of Pastor Andrea are numerous which challenges her to effectively meet the many needs of our congregation Andrea spread too thin was a common thread throughout his findings

Items Needing Immediate Prayer and Attention Although the majority have good morale there is a significant minority whose morale is not ideal Often the consultant felt he was looking at two different churches, positive and negative comments 29% feel church is moving forward 33% maintaining 25% feel the church is regressing Andrea spread too thin was a common thread throughout his findings

Six Recommendations to Move Us in a Dynamic Direction One Blended Service Hire an Associate Pastor Improve Flow of Information and Communication Reach and Retain Younger People and Families Narrow the Focus of Staff Job Descriptions Use Dave Jacobs as a coach

Next Steps 1. One Blended Service One service will double the dynamics of Sunday morning Bring people together who have been separated by not attending the same service Lighten the burden on our volunteers Increase our opportunities for fellowship and adult Sunday School

What will it look like? When will it roll out? What process will Session use to develop? Going from two to one service will put to test the love, humility, and unity of our congregation
