1. Autocratic Leader Takes control Doesn’t listen to employees’ ideas Best used when: Decisions need to be made quickly Making unpleasant decisions Disadvantage: Makes employees unhappy, rebellious

2. Laissez-Faire Leader Leaves employees to do their own work Best used when: Employees are mature and experienced Disadvantages: New employees are lost Employees become directionless

3. Democratic Leader Gets input from employees before making decisions Encourages staff to participate Best used when: There is time to get employees involved in decision-making Disadvantage: Making decisions takes longer
