t e c h n o Current chronometers

t e c h n o A chronometer is a specific type of watch that is used as a stopwatch combined with a display. A basic chronometer has an independent sweep second hand; it can be started, stopped, read and returned to zero by successive pressure on the stem.

t e c h n o Our Timer Buzzer has been designed to be an audio electromagnetic signaling device, including a self resetting timer. It is activated by a push switch. After a fixed time delay it buz for a short time, as soon as the device return to sleep state, attempting another activation.

The Timer Buzzer is an optimization tool. t e c h n o The Timer Buzzer is an optimization tool. This device allows sweepers to evaluate the breakpoint of the stone mainly for a draw call, and therefore provide more or less vigorously brushing to bring the stone to the target.

t e c h n o The most important advantage of the Timer Buzzer is to minimize the mistakes due to the two or three times push button and the display time reading. You only have to activate and at the buz observe the position of the stone relate to the reference line.

t e c h n o The Timer Buzzer is made to be inserting at the upper end of the broomstick. It is then easy to activate and bring it near the user ear to well heard the buz. The push switch is in a recess cap cavity to protect. The cap is resistant material.

t e c h n o The materials used, the method of manufacturing and assembly, make this millisecond Timer Buzzer a unique and quality precision electronic instrument for all curlers. Concurrently a chronometer can be used.

t e c h n o Back line First Hog line Second Hog line Tee line   On the left side of the first hog line, the stone at the top indicates its position after 3,8 seconds of the back line starting point. The position of the stones varies when launch speed is lesser or greater for the same time. Consequently the stones glide at corresponding distances on each side of the Tee line in the opposite House. For heavier stones, they hit the bumper at the end of the sheet and back towards the House.

t e c h n o " Experience will guide the sweeper to Excellence! " Back Line First hog Line Second hog Line Tee Line Activation Stone position at buz ------------------- Stone get still --------- 0 3,8 sec. 28,5 sec. Ex: Ice speed = 28,5 sec. - 1 sec = ± 10 feet Back Line to Hog Line = 3,8 sec. - 0,5 sec = ± 5 feet " Experience will guide the sweeper to Excellence! "

t e c h n o Back line First hog Line 3,5 3,6 3,7 3,8 3,9 If stones get still at T line Activation Stone position at buz, 3,8 sec. Approximate position of the stones for ice speeds equivalent to 3.5 to 3.9 seconds, from the back line to the first hog line.

t e c h n o The Timer Buzzer 3,8 seconds to evaluate the breakpoint of a stone thrown on a curling sheet.     Method of evaluation It is possible to evaluate the breakpoint of a stone by measuring the distance cover by it from the Back line to the Hog line in a fixed time. When a player is regular in its slide, without push the stone at release, this evaluation is accurate and with good cause the Timer Buzzer that works to the finger and eye and hearing. Considering an ice speed of 28,5 seconds, this means that a stone timed from the Back line of a curling sheet will stop on the Tee line in the opposite House, 28,5 seconds later. The reference time at Timer Buzzer is 3,8 seconds, then the stone cut the first Hog line.

Additional evaluation t e c h n o Utilization  To the launch one of the two sweepers active its Timer Buzzer when the stone is cutting the Back line. To the buz transmitted 3,8 seconds later he visualizes the position of the stone, which is expected to reach the Hog line if the launch is successful, for an equivalent time to 28,5 seconds bringing the stone to the Tee line. If at the buz the stone do not reach the Hog line, sweepers then know that they must activate their brushes to bring the stone to the target. It devolves to the sweepers to judge the stone speed. Sweeping enables to increase the distance travelled by the stone.   Additional evaluation  The other sweeper enables the Timer Buzzer at the Hog line. When the buz is heard, he visualizes the position of the stone to relate with a mark of reference provided on the ice . This observation gives an even more precise evaluation of the place where will stop the stone as it acquires its final momentum to the crossing of the first Hog line. It will allow appreciation with more acuity the stone running and give useful guidance to the captain.

to intervene if needed without wasting precious time. t e c h n o Conclusion  The use of a fixed time Timer Buzzer is entirely appropriate for specific measures of assessment. It has to be activated to the Back line, it’s all. No need to read display, and since the device is designed to automatically return to the sleep state as soon as his buz emitted, no need to stop, it is already ready for future use. Sweepers have kept their eyes on the stone and they are ready to intervene if needed without wasting precious time. Delay or advance of the stone, relate to one or the other reference lines, will allow sweepers to quickly adjust their intervention. With experience, they will become more and more accurate in their evaluation.  The Timer buzzer is incorporated into the high end of the brush broomstick to ease its activation and permit to well heard the buz. Depending on the ice speed at the usual place of game, a Timer Buzzer of 3,8 seconds can be used or otherwise adjusted on request.
