Region I IPP Data Update Region I IPP Advisory Board Meeting June 4-5, 2012 Region I IPP Advisory Board Meeting   1

Data Overview Trends by Facility Type Regional Chlamydia Positivity Progress towards Regional Goals and Objectives Chlamydia Positivity in Rescreen Visits Chlamydia Positivity in PTO Visits 3

4

Chlamydia Positivity in Region I Family Planning Females by Year % Positive Trend overall is slightly increasing. Last two years it was around 5 % 5

Chlamydia Positivity in Region I Family Planning Females by Year % Positive Positivity ranges from around 3.4-7% in our region. No state has ever had positivity greater than 8% in family planning clinics. This year: VT-3.35% RI-7.23% Region 5.58% 6

Regional Goals and Objectives By 2012, maintain 2010 CT screening numbers of sexually active 15-24 year old women and men. Changed objective at June 2011 meeting to maintain rather than increase numbers. 7

Objective 1.1 8

Regional Goals and Objectives By 2012, no more than 5% of women more than 25 years of age with no risk factors will be screened in IPP-funded clinics (i.e., 95% will be screened according to regional screening criteria).

Region I: Family Planning Clinics, Women, All Ages, 2011 17% of all tests are in women 25+. Have been decreasing testing of women with Risk factors, but not women without risk factors. 10 10

Connecticut Risk Factors Family Planning Clinics, Women, 25+ (Objective 2.2: ≥95% screened) 95% goal Note: CT does not screen women 25+ Note: Connecticut does not screen women 26 and older as of July 1, 2010. 11

Maine Risk Factors Family Planning Clinics, Women, 25+ (Objective 2 Maine Risk Factors Family Planning Clinics, Women, 25+ (Objective 2.2: ≥95% screened) 95% goal 12

2011- Two New Variables in Reason for Exam

Chlamydia Positivity in Rescreen/Non-Rescreen Visits, FP Sites - 2011 Women < 25/26 % Note: Connecticut does not have rescreen variable. They calculate rescreening rates at the state level. Total number of Rescreen: ME-52, MA-122, NH-255, RI-70, VT-13 Total number of Non-Rescreen: ME-2008, MA-3861 NH-3783, RI-5118, VT-1186

Percent of Visits that are PTO Visits, Family Planning Sites – 2011 Women < 25/26 This is % of all visits that have PTO variable checked. Note that this is Family Planning only – MA actually has higher numbers because greater variability of site type.

Chlamydia Positivity in PTO/Non-PTO Visits, Family Planning Sites- 2011 Women < 25/26 Note: Total number of PTO: CT-143, MA-277, ME-82, NH-456, RI-137, VT-102 Total number of Non-PTO: CT-4453 , MA-3706, ME-1978, NH-3582, RI-5051, VT-1097
