Fig 1 First prototype of the Bar Stabilizer Anvil tool (Walter Lorenz Surgical Inc, Jacksonville, FL) designed. The tool tip has a groove to accommodate the pectus bar and simultaneously rest on the flanges of the bar stabilizer (above) front and (below) back view. The bulky tip caused minor technical difficulties during implementation in surgery.
