Presentation transcript:

“Grooveshark was founded in 2006 by three University of Florida students determined to accomplish what the music industry couldn't - make purchasing music online easy, enjoyable and worthwhile. “What is Grooveshark? Grooveshark is an online music sharing community that rewards you for sharing your music. Grooveshark allows you to safely and legally download high quality MP3s. Grooveshark is a peer to peer program with a massive library of songs. Grooveshark allows you to interact with other music lovers like yourself. Grooveshark rewards you for sharing your music, and gives you a cut of the profits for songs you sell. “Groovesharks Terms of Service state that you are personally liable and that you will indemnify, hold harmless and defend Escape Media Group "EMG", (Groovesharks parent company) and their respective directors, officers and employees, from any liability, including legal fees for any claim brought by any 3rd party. “Grooveshark state that they hold any money collected for any artist with whom they do not have an agreement in place in an escrow account. “Grooveshark may be legal, but if someone buys any music other than the artists with whom they have made agreements, then you have broken the law, not them.” -- Yahoo! Answers “Grooveshark is the ability to find and listen to any song, share and receive personalized recommendations and purchase music at a fair price with the knowledge that the copyright holder will be paid.” -- Yahoo!
