American Express– Leadership Development Options Experience to Lead designs and delivers immersive experiential leadership development programs in unforgettable locations to improve the ability of individuals, teams, and organizations, to lead through change and propels  them to higher levels of success, performance, and growth. We do so by engaging executives in powerful leadership stories and facilitating dynamic discussions so our participants become emotionally connected to the subject matter. In this way, the learning is applicable, personal and deeply rooted, allowing the individual to improve themselves, their team and their organization. Target Audience(s): High potential cohorts, executive teams, and individual leaders Facilitation Approach: Discovery-based, leveraging historians, SME’s, and leadership experts Duration: Customized programs can range from one to five days, public programs are three days Customization: Custom programs can leverage competency models, strategic objectives, and team/organizational challenges and opportunities

How Do Leaders Learn and Develop? Individuals obtain 70% of their knowledge from experiential learning, 20% from interactions with others, and 10% from formal education. Experiential learning is the most beneficial for leaders because it enables them to discover and refine their job-related skills, make decisions, address challenges, and interact with their colleagues. Experience to Lead leverages a version of experiential learning to engage participants emotionally, physically, and mentally in the learning. Our intent is to increase impact and retention through immersion. (Gathered by Training Industry’s 70-20-10 Model of Development)

What is Our Experiential Learning Design? We partner with you to create a unique learning experience customized to your business and culture. Our design integrates various learning approaches to increase retention and application. Our Experiential Learning Model takes a more holistic approach to learning and emphasizes how experiences including cognitions, environment, and emotions influence the learning process. The experience includes visiting distinct locations and viewing artifacts while exploring powerful leadership studies. Participants reflect and discuss personal and organizational challenges with peers and facilitators through the lens of the experience. Through dialogue and peer coaching, participants conceptualize actionable, practical solutions, and alternative approaches to managing people, developing strategy, and leading change. Based on specific goals, new insights are translated into application and improvements in the leadership of people, strategy, and change management. (Adapted from David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory Model)
